New Delhi: The markets opened flat Wednesday with marginal loss. At 9:57 am (IST) Sensex was down 10 points at 14104 Nifty was down three points at 4076.
Leading gainers during the opening move included Wipro, Rel Comm, ACC, L&T, Bharti, Suzlon, M&M and HCl. However, Guj Ambuja, HLL, SAIL, HDFC Bnak, OBC and ABB were trading under pressure.
Asian markets were mixed today, Japan's Nikkei plunged 0.72 per cent or 124.34 points at 17,078.12, Hong Kong's Hang Seng fell 0.41 per cent or 82.57 points at 19,945.38, South Korea's Seoul Composite was down 1.09 per cent or 15.14 points at 1,374.57. However, Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted surged 0.48 per cent or 37.18 points at 7,829.26. Singapore's Straits Times gained 0.12 per cent or 3.54 points at 3,041.75.
Market cues:
- FIIs net sell USD 52.6 million in equity on January 15.
- MFs net buy Rs 103 crore (Rs 1.03 billion) in equity on January 15.
- NSE F&O Open Interest up by Rs 1,806 crore (Rs 18.06 billion) at Rs 60,173 crore (Rs 601.73 billion).
F&O cues:
- Futures Open Interest up by Rs 880 crore (Rs 8.80 billion), Options Open Interest up by Rs 926 crore (Rs 9.26 billion).
- Nifty March Futures add five lakh shares in Open Interest.
- Nifty Jan, Feb Open Interest unchanged>
- Nifty Open Interest Put-Call ratio up marginally at 1.72.
- Nifty Puts add 13 lakh, Calls add 5 lakh shares in Open Interest.
- Nifty 4000 Put adds 2.4 lakh shares in Open Interest.
- Nifty 4150 Call adds 2.2 lakh shares in Open Interest.
