A total of 2,22,325 companies and limited liability partnerships (LLPs) were incorporated during the current financial year till February 29, a 24 per cent rise as compared with the 1,79,264 firms registered in the year-ago same period, according to the data from the corporate affairs ministry.
“During the period April 1, 2023-February 29, 2024, a total of 2,22,325 companies and LLPs were incorporated, compared to the 1,79,264 companies and LLPs incorporated during April 1, 2022-February 28, 2023,” the ministry said.

Out of the total, 1,68,716 companies were registered during the current financial year till February-end, compared with 1,46,290 a year ago, according to the ministry data.
A total of 53,609 LLPs were incorporated during the period, against 32,974 in the year-ago period.
