One of the most popular yesteryear Bollywood actors, Vinod Mehra, captured millions of hearts for his impeccable acting skills and innocent looks. The actor, despite his career spanning only a few years, managed to make an irreplaceable mark in the entertainment industry. In his two-decade career, he appeared in more than 100 films but failed to have a successful love life. With his natural acting style, simplicity, and infectious smile, Vinod Mehra gave tough competition to stalwarts like Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra, who are considered the superstars of Indian cinema till now. Despite appearing as the second lead in most of his films, Vinod Mehra surpassed many other actors in terms of fame and the love that he garnered from the audience.
There was a time when Vinod Mehra started making headlines for his personal life and love affairs, instead of his career. He reportedly had a tumultuous love life. Vinod Mehra first married Meena Broca in the early 1970s. Everything between the couple went well, until Vinod had his first heart attack. Thereafter, Vinod Mehra fell for Bindiya Goswami. In the late 80s, Vinod Mehra and Rekha decided to take their friendship forward. It is believed that the duo even secretly tied the knot, which was later denied by Rekha. The relationship did not last long as the actor’s mother did not like Rekha.
Rekha later moved on with Mukesh Aggarwal in 1990. Mukesh died shortly after.
After his breakup with Rekha, Vinod Mehra found Kiran, whom he married in 1988. Soon, the couple were blessed with son Rohan and daughter, Soniya. Destiny had different plans. In 1990, Vinod had his second heart attack following which he passed away. Vinod was just 45 years old when he died.
