Wholesome Video Shows ‘Heroic’ Dog Rescuing Man From Icy Lake

Dogs are selfless companions and are always ready to help humans in every possible way. Recently, a video of a dog actively participating in the rescue mission was shared on social media. The video shows a dog named Ruby assisting a cop in rescuing her owner, who slipped through the ice on a frozen lake. Internet users were quite amazed, praised the dog, and discussed its devotion for the person.

We Rate Dogs, an Instagram page, released a video of the rescue mission, which is being adored by the internet. The video illustrates how Ruby assisted the police and delivered the rescue disc to her human. As per the post, the dog and the human were walking on what they thought was thick enough ice in Michigan when the man submerged. Bystanders dialled 911, and a first responder arrived. He just had a rescue disc in his patrol car. He reached a spot on the ice where he couldn’t go any further and threw it. Unfortunately, it could not go far enough.

When the officer called Ruby, she came right away, sat down, looked up at him, and waited for instructions. He put the disc around her collar, and Ruby dashed back to her human, who later revealed that she leaped on top of him with it. He grabbed the disc, and the cop began bringing him back onto the ice. After 16 minutes in the water, the man was transported to a hospital, where he was treated and soon released. The caption said, “Thanks to a little teamwork, a lot of bravery, and her very heroic game of fetch, we’re giving Ruby a 15/10.”

The rescue operation was filmed on the body camera of a Michigan state police officer, which first showed the man trapped in cold waters with only his head and shoulders above the thin ice and his dog standing by his side. The officer initially attempted to toss a rescue disc connected to a rope out to the man. When it fails, he takes help from the dog.

The internet praised the dog’s efforts saying, “Ruby, the jewel of Michigan,” “Ruby’s been pup-graded to diamond.” Others said, “A well deserved 15, I’ve got tears,” “Should Be 911/10 if you ask me. Ruby is a real life Paw Patrol.” Some also praised the rescue team, “And Kudos to the very smart officer, who utilized the intelligence and fetch instincts of the dog.”
