Watch: Delta Flight Attendants Fix Loose Ceiling Panel Mid-Air
The shocking incident occurred during a flight from Honolulu to Minneapolis.

In recent months, passenger safety concerns have intensified due to malfunctions in several aircraft. A video from a Delta Airlines Boeing 767 has now surfaced online. A passenger travelling from Honolulu to Minneapolis captured a horrific scene mid-air. As per the account shared by the flight passenger, a ceiling panel dislocated mid-air, forcing crew members to rush and fix it. No injuries were reported.

“I’m not an expert, but this doesn’t look great,” the freaked-out flier captioned her clip. The footage shows two members of the Delta crew arriving quickly at the scene and attempting to fix the dislodged panel back into its original place. Throughout the video, they are seen trying to adjust the panel. It left viewers frightened on social media. Many users joked that the aircraft was manufactured by Boeing, which has been making headlines in recent months. On the other hand, there were few who provided explanations for the incident. Since the video was shared online, it has garnered over 2 million viewers.

Reacting to the video, a user joked, “What’s Boeing on here?”

Another shared, “Boeing’s new Jigsaw-style game where passengers have to put together the airplane while it’s at altitude before it crashes.”

“When Boeing and Ikea collab,” a comment read.

An individual explained, “So this is a PSU unit it contains things like your personal ventilation and flight attendant call buttons. As well as your oxygen mask if the cabin was to depressurize. So, while it may look bad, this is relatively harmless unless it were to fall on someone. This is an easy fix and happens fairly often as the clips that hold them in often get broken if passengers mess with them. How do I know this, I work on them every day as an aircraft interior mechanic.”

Another wrote, “I would’ve stood up a lot sooner to help because just watching this made me anxious.”

One more added, “More Boeing planes falling apart in mid-air?”

According to the New York Post, a Boeing whistleblower named Roy Irvin earlier said he was disciplined for raising safety concerns on their planes. He was called “insubordinate” for reporting the alleged problem. Another whistleblower, Santiago Paredes, who worked as a production investigator for the aircraft, claimed he saw various issues such as missing parts, incomplete parts, dents and damaged parts. These are issues he says should be fixed before reaching his inspection point.
