Vir Das Faces Last Minute Visa Trouble In His Europe Tour: 'They Don’t Believe...':
The last-minute visa trouble for Vir Das has led to the rescheduling of his Dublin show, originally planned for October 7.

Comedian Vir Das is facing problems with his Schengen visa application which has compelled him to postpone his Mind Fool Tour. Das, an internationally renowned artist with an Emmy award to his name, was denied a double entry visa by the Swedish Embassy.

In an X post, he complained about the decision stating that the Swiss Embassy had acted of its own “infinite wisdom”.

The last-minute visa trouble for Vir Das could also disrupt his scheduled performances around Europe.

The comedian said his Dublin show would have to be rescheduled to another date as he can not travel out of Sweden due to his single-entry Schengen visa. He was due to perform in the capital city of Ireland on October 7.

Currently on his tour in Sweden for his scheduled show in Stockholm on September 30, Das said he had applied for the double entry Schengen visa that would enable him to re-enter Schengen territory after his Dublin show. However, he was given a single entry visa by the Swedish Embassy meaning he cannot travel to Ireland in the Schengen zone as planned.

Although part of the European Union, Ireland is not in the Schengen group of countries.

Das said that Schengen’s visa for his tour assistant was also declined because the Sweden Embassy thought he would not come back to India.

“Applied for a double entry Schengen. The Swedish embassy in their infinite wisdom give me a single entry one, and reject my tour assistant saying they don’t believe he’s going to return to India now I have to push a Dublin show because I can’t leave Schengen. What a week!”, his post read.

A user in the comments section suggested, “Include in your show, while there, a segment about how crazy, racist and bureaucratic the visa processes are.”

Another user humorously said, “Embassy: ‘Ye sab comedy show to bahana hain, tour assistant ko humare yaha settle karwana hain’ – REJECTED” (Embassy: These comedy shows are just an excuse; they will get the tour assistant settled here. – REJECTED)

Another user said, “Incredibly frustrating, especially when travel plans hinge on the visa situation.”

Highlighting the problem, another user mentioned, “My friend’s visa got cancelled as she wanted just a 1-week solo trip to Sweden showing them both ways tickets, travel plans, booked Airbnb all done. They cancelled her visa for being a single unmarried woman at her age of marriage.”

The majority of the users in the comments section highlighted a similar problem.
