US Flight Diverted After Dog Poops In First Class, Crew Spends 2 Hours Cleaning Carpets
United Airlines raised the issue on their official website and said that dogs must always be in the carrier when flying, unless and until they are service animals.

We’ve often seen flights getting diverted due to bad weather, technical default, medical emergencies, security threats, or natural disasters. Just when you thought you had made a list of all such possible reasons, comes a surprise from the US. A flight from Houston to Seattle was diverted to Dallas, just one hour after take-off after a dog pooped in the aisle. The incident came to light after a Reddit user shared a picture of the mess created by the dog.

As per the Reddit user, the dog pooped inside the first class of the plane and the stench due to the mess was just unbearable. The staff tried their best to clean up the mess through paper towels and the passengers sitting in the first class also tried to get away from the stink.

The Reddit user wrote, “Dog had a messy accident in the aisle right in first class. The plane was diverted to DFW. The crew spent over 2 hours cleaning carpets with the help of paper towels. The smell made me ill. Gate agents kept on yelling at passengers and the cabin crew. The smell never quite went away. The First class toilet was declared unusable as the dog mess was unresolved in there. Food went bad while on the ground so very few snacks left.”

United Airlines later raised the issue on their official website and said that dogs must always be in the carrier when flying, unless and until they are service animals. The airlines said, “Once you’re on your flight, there’s only one rule you need to follow and that is Your pet must stay in their carrier with the door closed, and under your seat at all times.”

Many shared their view on the issue in the comments section.

A user wrote, “Diapers on dogs from now on for the entire flight.” Another user wrote, “Get dogs off the planes unless they fit in a carrier under the seat and they stay there.” A third user wrote, “The dog just ran up and dropped a deuce. What was the owner doing?” A fourth user wrote, “The Dog owner must be fined.”
