Snake Bite Mystery Deepens: Committee Formed after 7th Attack on UP Man
A committee comprising medical experts has been constituted to investigate the matter thoroughly.

The bizarre case of a snake repeatedly biting 24-year-old Vikas Dwivedi from Uttar Pradesh’s Soura village has prompted local authorities to take action. Amidst reports of Vikas being bitten seven times in just 40 days, concerns over the unusual behavior of the snake have escalated. In a surprising twist, Vikas claims the snake targeted him specifically, allegedly communicating in his dreams that the ninth bite would be fatal. This revelation has stirred local interest and garnered media attention.

Responding to mounting public interest and media coverage, the Fatehpur administration has stepped in. A committee comprising medical experts has been constituted to investigate the matter thoroughly. The committee, led by Dr Rajiv Nayan Giri, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), includes specialists who will scrutinise every aspect of Vikas’s encounters with the snake.

Dr Giri confirmed that the committee will interview the doctors involved in Vikas’s treatment at a private hospital. Their investigation aims to understand the circumstances surrounding each of the snake bites, the treatment administered, and the physical effects on Vikas’s health. We are taking this matter seriously, assured Dr Giri, highlighting the committee’s mandate to submit a detailed report to the District Magistrate (DM) upon completion of their inquiry.

In just one and a half months, Dubey survived six snake bites. Each time the man was attacked by a snake, he was taken to the hospital, treated and allowed to go after making a full recovery. The first event happened on June 2, right after Dubey got out of bed at his residence. He was taken to a neighbouring hospital and given medical attention. Dubey suffered six snake bites between June 2 and July 6.

When Dubey was bitten by a snake for the fourth time, he lost consciousness as a result of an especially serious episode. His relatives hurried him back to the same medical facility since they were now quite frightened. Despite being taken aback by how frequently Dubey was bitten, the medical team was able to stabilise him once more.

However, as he relocated to his relative’s home in Radhanagar, Dubey suffered his fifth bite. His parents then took him back home. He was bitten by a snake again on July 6, and things became worse. Concerned about his health, his parents took the boy to the hospital, where he received treatment and healed. According to Dubey, he always had a premonition before getting bitten by a snake, and the bites usually happened on a Saturday or Sunday.
