Lakhan Arjun Rawat, a cricketer-turned-content creator, recently shared a throwback video of his childhood friend, cricketer Rinku Singh. The post shed light on the India batter’s entertaining persona, which, however, is not a secret to fans. According to Lakhan, the clip was recorded in 2015, when Rinku had already emerged in the Indian domestic circuit. It appeared to be a get-together where Rinku, Lakhan and their other friends were seen dancing to the popular Bollywood song, Fevicol Se from Salman Khan-starrer action comedy, Dabangg 2. The hilarious part of the video came when Rinku Singh started imitating the hook step of the foot-tapping track, which was originally performed by Kareena Kapoor. He was joined by Lakhan, who was also grooving to the catchy beats. More than nine years may have passed, but the camaraderie between Rinku and Lakhan remains the same.
Fast forwarding the clock to the present, the two friends have been able to make a unique identity in their respective fields. Rinku Singh is regarded as one of the most talented Indian batters in recent times, while Lakhan Rawat enjoys a huge follower base across social media platforms.
At the end of the video, the duo can be seen engaging in banter, with Rinku holding a cute puppy on his lap. Lakhan believes their unbreakable bond is nothing but “God’s plan”– a term that Rinku first used when his team Kolkata Knight Riders won the Indian Premier League (IPL) title last season. The caption of the Instagram post read, “And the Story Continues.”
The treasured video grabbed the eyeballs of many cricket fans, who were impressed by Rinku Singh’s dance moves. Since being shared, it has garnered more than 79 lakh views on Instagram. One of the viewers admitted, “True friendship never ends because its memories always remain in our hearts.”
A person revealed that the video was from the time when Rinku Singh and Lakhan Arjun Rawat used to play “zonal cricket” together. Many other users lauded Rinku for his dance steps and flooded the comment section with red heart emojis.
Rinku Singh was last seen in action in the T20I series against Sri Lanka last month. Led by Suryakumar Yadav, India registered a 3-0 whitewash in the away assignment.
