Family Finds Dead Mouse in Sealed Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup Ordered from Zepto
Three family members consumed Hershey’s chocolate syrup. As a result, they required immediate medical attention.

A family recently had a distressing encounter when they allegedly found a dead mouse inside a sealed bottle of Hershey’s chocolate syrup purchased from Zepto. The shocking incident came to light after the family shared their harrowing experience on Instagram. According to their post, three members of the family consumed the syrup, leading to them needing immediate medical attention.

Suspicions arose when the syrup, intended for use with a brownie cake, appeared too thick and allegedly contained hair. Upon emptying the bottle into a disposable cup, a dead mouse fell out and they later confirmed after washing it under water. The family claims no action has been taken, while Hershey’s urged them to reach out for a resolution.

The family wrote, “Shocking discovery in my Zepto Oder. This is kind notice to everyone to open your eyes. We ordered Hershey’s chocolate syrup from Zepto to eat with brownie cake, we started with pouring in cakes, caught small hair continuously. Decided to open, the opening was sealed and intact. We opened and poured in disposable glass, a thick and hard consistency of dead rat dropped down. By washing in running water for reconfirmation, it’s a dead rat. We tried to register complain but there is no response, 3 members who tasted that syrup, 2 girls have asymptomatic, one girl have fainted yesterday and got to hospital nearby and again she was referred to another hospital for general medicine. With grace she was alright now and the investigation is quite normal.”

“So guys please be aware of what you’re eating and ordering. Please do check while giving to kids. This is extremely concerning and unacceptable. We are worried about the health risks and the lack of quality control. Please address this issue immediately. I demand a full investigation and assurance that this will not happen again,” they added.

In the comments section, Hershey’s wrote, “Hi there, we are very sorry to see this. Please send us the UPC and manufacturing code from the bottle, so one of our team members can assist you.”

Reacting to the post, a user suggested, “The item reached to you in a seal-packed condition. The problem is with the manufacturing brand not with the delivery service app. Rather than criticizing Zepto, file a complaint in the consumer court against Hershey’s.”

Another shared, “New fear unlocked.”

“You can sue them (Hershey) for this and report to food safety,” a comment read.

Another wrote, “This is only one bottle found. Think how many people’s houses might have the remaining bottles which contain the bacteria of a dead rat.”

An individual wondered, “Since past few days I have just been horrified seeing so many unhygienic practices that I have stopped using so many packaged products and started eating only healthy and non-packaged products I hope in future I can completely stop it. Our older generation lived healthy lives just because of it. Thank you for sharing.”

One more asked, “How is it possible for a mouse to get inside the sealed products?”

Since the family shared their horrifying experience on Instagram, it has gone viral and garnered over 53 lakh views.
