After Harsha Bhogle, R Ashwin Slams IndiGo Airlines Over 'Terrible' Experience
R Ashwin shared how he had to face issues after booking tickets through a third-party platform.

India’s leading airline network, IndiGo, has been facing a lot of backlash over its improper services and poor communication. Shortly after cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle called out the airline for its “uncaring attitude” towards an elderly couple, Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin raised his voice. In response to Bhogle’s X (formerly Twitter), the veteran off-spinner expressed his frustration in a fresh post on Monday morning. He also spoke about his own experience with IndiGo, something that he described as “terrible.” While Ashwin refrained from revealing detailed information about his experience, he mentioned, “My recent experience with them through a third-party booking platform was terrible; they make you pay and then end up doing whatever they choose to do.”

The cricketer even called out to everyone to stop trusting the airline and added, “Heyyy, who is ever going to pull them up ??? All we can do is to not trust them. Even if you pay, they won’t give your blocked seats, Don’t waste your time or energy.”

Social media users instantly reacted to his tweet, with many strongly agreeing with him. Some even shared their own stories of struggles while flying with IndiGo. A user wrote, “It’s absolutely a scam, acting like a monopoly.”

Another commented, “My friend also faced the same issue and baggage also missed after 2 days return back to the worst service nowadays.”

“The same thing happened to me as well. Punctual = Delay (In @IndiGo6E dictionary) Never experienced on-time departure in recent times. First, we’ll be getting a call saying it’s delayed by half an hour. Later they keep extending,” another comment read.

Harsha Bhogle Calls Out IndiGo

The Indian cricket commentator shared the unpleasant experience of a senior citizen couple on IndiGo, who had their seats changed from the 4th row to the 19th.

Mentioning that the couple purposefully chose the front row to avoid walking much, Bhogle added, “The gentleman was going to struggle to walk till row 19 in a narrow passage. But who cares? A few people had to make a noise and point out the immorality, and only then, thanks to the pleasant cabin crew, were the original seats restored. But, and this is the point, they had to make a noise; otherwise, Indigo was going to get them to walk till 19, and check after boarding if they could be assigned 4, which meant they would have to walk back.”

He also tagged the airline, asking them to be “more sensitive” and “not institutionalise this uncaring attitude.”

Ashwin’s Replacement In The Indian Squad

Currently, in the final days of his career, the 37-year-old off-spinner might soon get replaced in the Indian squad. Former Indian wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik recently teased that Washington Sundar should be in line to take over the mantle from Ashwin when the time comes. “India are definitely looking for a next-gen off-spinner, as in last India ‘A’ series against England Lions, they tried three off-spinners in three matches: Pulkit Narang, Washington Sundar, and Saransh Jain,” he told Cricbuzz.
