Munawar Faruqui and Uorfi Javed, known for their longstanding friendship, have often expressed mutual admiration. Recently, they made headlines for roasting each other in a playful video shared on Munawar’s YouTube channel. In the video, Uorfi took a cheeky jab at Munawar’s personal life, while he humorously dubbed her as “Manish Malhotra’s nightmare".
Munawar Faruqui began by humorously commenting on Uorfi Javed’s facial surgeries, “Aap logon ne Uorfi ko kahan dekha dekha hai. Splitsvilla, Bigg Boss mein bhi dekha hai. Wo ek hafta thi lekin logon ne dekha. Roadies mein bhi. Uorfi ko show mein bula ke unhone plastic kyun promote kiya. I don’t understand. (Where have you seen Uorfi? You have seen her in Splitsvilla and Bigg Boss. She was there for a week, but people saw her. In Roadies as well. Why did they promote plastic by calling Uorfi in the show?)."
As the roasting session continued, Munawar Faruqui also made fun of Uorfi Javed’s dressing sense saying that she asked her cook to make a bralette for her. Finally, while inviting her to the stage, the comedian also called her “Manish Malhtora’s biggest nightmare."
Not one to back down, Uorfi’s comebacks were equally witty. She started by taking a dig at Munawar Faruqui’s personal life saying, “His I Love You message shows forwarded many times." She did not stop there and continued to target him. Roasting him further, she said, “You won Bigg Boss, you won Lock Upp but could not win women’s trust."
To give you some background, Munawar Faruqui’s personal life caught attention during his stint on Bigg Boss where he participated as one of the contestants. Ayesha Khan, a co-contestant on the show, accused the stand-up comedian of cheating on her as he was also dating ex-girlfriend Nazila Sitaishi at the same time.
Beyond the roasting sessions, Munawar Faruqui and Uorfi Javed share a great bond. The comedian even made a cameo appearance in Follow Kar Lo Yaar, Uorfi’s recently released show which is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video. It is produced by Sol Productions’ Fazila Allana and Kamna Menezes. Sandeep Kukraja came on board to direct the show, based on Uorfi’s life.
