Khatron Ke Khiladi 14’s Abhishek Kumar Reveals He Overcame Claustrophobia On The Show

Abhishek Kumar, who is currently showing off his daredevil side to the viewers on Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, shared how the show has impacted him. The actor is known to have a long-standing challenge with claustrophobia and one of the tasks on the stunt-based reality show required him to brave this fear. He shared a fascinating video of himself performing a difficult task along with an emotional note on how he overcame his biggest phobia.

In the latest task on Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, the contestants had to perform a stunt inside a gas chamber. Abhishek Kumar shared a snippet from an episode in which he performs the gas chamber task successfully. The actor was locked inside a room with tear gas and had to complete the stunt as soon as possible to get out. The clip shows him hurrying to finish the task and leaving the room. He also fell sick once he was out.

Recalling the severe challenge, Abhishek Kumar wrote, “Jab main tear gas chamber me tha, I thought I’ll quit the show. Per mujhe pta tha ise overcome karna zroori hai. Jab gates band hue I felt breathless. Tear gas meri eyes n throat tak chali gayi or saans lena and dikhna sab band hogya. When I started vomiting, mujhe laga it was over for me (When I was inside the tear gas chamber, I thought I would quit the show. But I knew it was important to overcome this. When the gates were closed I felt breathless. Tear gas went inside my eyes and throat, it was difficult to breath and I could hardly see anything.)” However, Abhishek stated that it was then he remembered all those times he was scared to go inside a lift or closed area, especially during his stint in Bigg Boss 17. He recalled those who doubted him and decided to prove them wrong.

He stated, “I could hear the voices of those who doubted me, and I refused to let them be right. 2 minutes bhi ghanto lag rahe the, but after walking out of that chamber, I felt k Wow Abhishek tune kar dikhaaya yaar . Saalon lag gye ise overcome krne me isse ladne me but finally Maine kar dia. All thanks to Khatron Ke Khiladi and team. I’m very very very grateful to Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 for that. (2 minutes seems like hours, but after walking out of the chamber, I felt I did it. It took me years to overcome my claustrophobia but I finally did it).”

Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 started towards the end of July and is hosted by Rohit Shetty. This year the stunt-based show was shot in Romania.
