Madalsa Sharma has bid farewell to the popular show Anupamaa recently after being associated with it since its inception in 2020. She became a household name for her character Kavya, and played a key role with Rupali Ganguly and Sudhanshu Pandey. In her recent interview, Madalsa addressed rumours regarding a conflict with co-star Rupali Ganguly and also of it was a difficult decision to quit the successful show.
In conversation with Etimes, Madalsa Sharma addressed if she had any rifts with Rupali Ganguly. She stated, “I want to clarify that rifts can happen anywhere and everywhere. It happens on every set and it is not a new thing. It is just how you tackle the rifts is what matters. I can’t speak on other people’s behalf… baaki actors ne rift ko alag tarike se handle kiya hai maine alag tarike se handle kiya hai (they have their own way of handling rifts, i have my own).”
The actress pointed out that working on set with other co-stars is not always a swift journey. She noted, “It happens everywhere aur agar main kahoon ke mera kisi ke saath rift nahi hua then I can be partially wrong. If I’m being honest then of course kayi baar rifts hote hain (If i say i don’t have rifts with anyone that is partially wrong. Honestly, it happens a lot of times).” But for Madalsa, what matters is that she does not linger on those issues for long or would not remember them. She perceives them as issues that happen in daily life and moves on.
Meanwhile, on being asked if quitting a successful show like Anupamaa was a tough decision, Madalsa stated, “There was a lot of back and forth. It was not a very tough decision and not a very simple one also. I’ve invested four years in the show so it took a little bit of thinking.” However, she noted that although it was difficult initially, once her mind was made up, it was smooth.
Anupamaa is one of the most popular television shows, dominating the TRP charts for years. It also features Gaurav Khanna as Anuj Kapadia, Alpana Buch as Baa, and Nidhi Shah as Kinjal, among others. Prior to Madalsa, even Sudhanshu Pandey had quit the show.
