Anupamaa led by Rupali Ganguly continues to attract audiences and has consistently topped the TRP charts. As speculated, the show is headed for a significant generational leap and most of the previous characters have quit. Star Plus released a new promo for the same on October 8. The promo introduces new faces on the show, Alisha Parveen and Shivam Khajuria. However, Gaurav Khanna who used to headline the show with Rupali Ganguly is missing in action.
The promo provides a glimpse of the new chapter in the lead character, Anupama’s life. An elderly Anupama is introduced in the clip, who is seen operating her own business and missing her daughter, Adhya. Anupama is seen worrying about her losses when a young boy, played by Shivam Khajuria, enters the scene, introducing himself as her business partner. He reassures her not to worry, saying that time has a way of making things better. Anupama agrees and hands him a halwa prasad for her daughter Adhya’s birthday, requesting him to offer it in Dwarka, which he gladly accepts.
The scene then shifts to a grown-up Adhya (Alisha Parveen), who works as a tour guide near Dwarka and is looking for clients. She mistakes Shivam Khajuria’s character as a tourist and takes him on a tour. She holds his hand and decides to show him the VIP spots in Dwarka. Later, he offers the same prasad sent by Anupama to Adhya, which makes her remember her mother. When questioned if her mother is alive, Adhya reveals that she has become distant from her family.
As per the current track of the show, Adhya, played by Aurra Bhatnagar, is being accused of Dimpy’s (Nishi Saxena) death. To avoid the blame, she flees from Asha Bhavan, becoming estranged from Anupama once again. The show is produced by Rajan Shahi’s Director’s Kut Production and has been a TRP chart leader since its inception in 2020. The show initially focused on Anupama’s struggles as a housewife who is undermined by her husband, children and family. It gradually narrated how she made an identity for herself and gained respect in society.
