Snapchat Spectacles, a pair of glasses that can video-record things, have been put out for sale at pop-up vending machines across the country.
A single Snapbot - that looks more of a Minion-like vending machine - has been installed at 5th Ave, New York City, just next to the Apple store. People were seen bee lining to buy the Snapchat Spectacles that cost $129.95 and are limited to two (numbers) per customer.
Snapchat Spectacles are similar to Google Glass, sans the fuss of putting a computer on the head. The glasses can be connected to a phone and also to Snapchat to record the snippets of videos in a circular format.
The company started the sale of Spectacles by installing a Snapbot on Venice Beach near Snapchat’s founding headquarters.
The Snapbots were subsequently dropped at spots that included a bakery near Big Sur in California.
