Netflix Users Can No Longer Pay For The Service Through Apple: Here's What You Need To Know
Now, Netflix users can no longer pay for the service through Apple's payment system. Here's all you need to know.

If you are a Netflix subscriber who pays for it using Apple’s in-app purchase option, you will need to start paying for it using an alternative payment method, Netflix is saying, notifying subscribers.

This notable development comes after the 2018 move by the company in a similar direction, which led to it stopping users from signing up for the service via iPhone and iPad.

During this time, the streaming giant let Netflix users keep paying for the service through Apple’s payment system, but now that Apple isn’t budging about its cut, the streaming giant is moving past it.

This was first reported by The Streamable, wherein the publication said that Netflix has asked users to update their payment method. Simply put, Netflix will no longer need to pay Apple their cut, reducing dependence and hence, it would be able to make more money.

In addition, if you visit this Netflix support page for the US, you can see the newly updated wording. “Some Apple-billed members in select countries may be prompted to add a new payment method to continue their subscription.”

In related news, Netflix has phased out its most affordable ad-free plan, priced at $11.99 per month. This change is set to begin in Canada and the United Kingdom in the second quarter of the ongoing year. As a result, the most cost-effective ad-free alternative for Netflix subscribers will be the $15.99 plan.
