At Europe's biggest tech show IFA 2016, Motorola finally took the wraps off its latest flagship the Moto Z Play that boasts of an octa-core processor and a glass design.
The Moto Z Play differs in terms of design from its predecessors. It features glass panels in the front and rear with a metal frame and comes with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with 1080p resolution. At its heart is a 2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core chipset coupled with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage.
The Android Marshmallow-based phone further includes a 16 megapixel rear camera with laser autofocus and a 5 megapixel wide-angle front snapper with LED flash. Highlight of the phone is that it comes with Hasselblad True Zoom Mod that offers 10X optical zoom with Xenon flash that transforms the phone into a superzoom camera, a movie projector, boombox, and more.
It draws its juice from a 3,510mAh battery that is claimed to offer 50 hours of usage. It also comes with TurboCharge feature where 15 minutes of charging is enough to keep the phone running for up to 9 hours.
Other features include fingerprint sensor, 4G LTE support, USB Type-C, and dual SIM support.
The Moto Z Play will be available globally in September at a price of 499 euros.
