The HTC One M8s features a 5-inch 1080p display, 13-megapixel camera and an octa-core processor.

New Delhi: HTC, which is yet to introduce its flagship One (M9), has announced a new smartphone - One M8s - that is basically a refreshed version of the last year's One M8.

The HTC One M8s looks more or less similar to the year-old M8. It features the same 5-inch 1080p display encased in all-metal body. The new phone, however, is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor paired with 2GB of RAM.

The company has done away with its 4-megapixel "UltraPixel" camera and has included a 13-megapixel sensor. Unlike the One (M9), the new M8s has kept the secondary lens for focusing effects.

Powering the phone is a 2840mAh battery, a slight increase from the 2600mAh battery in the One (M8). It comes with 16GB of internal storage with an option to expand the storage space using a microSD card.

At 9.55mm, the One M8s is a tad thicker than the old model. The M8s runs the company's proprietary Sense 6.0 software that is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The M8s will come in silver, gold, and gunmetal gray. The phone will go on sale this month in the UK for £379.99 ($564). There in information on its India launch and availability yet.
