New Delhi: Fully autonomous trucks would soon be used at highway construction sites in Florida by the end of this year.
Unlike Daimler’s big rig that still require a driver controlling the vehicle, the autonomous trucks by Pennsylvania company Royal Truck & Equipment will start deploying the big vehicles sans human controllers under a Department of Transportation pilot program.
A report on Engadget notes that the autonomous trucks are controlled in three ways: via GPS Waypoint navigation, through a remote control and via leader/follower programming.
