Salaar, a pan-India film starring Prabhas, released in the theatres on December 22, 2023, and attained mixed reviews. Some praised his acting prowess while others criticised the film for copying the concept of KGF. Despite the criticism, Salaar performed brilliantly at the box office and the collection shows no signs of stopping even on the 16th day. Headlined by Prabhas, this film garnered Rs 5.25 crore (across all languages) on the 16th day, as reported by the industry tracker Sacnilk. The report added that the film has collected Rs 387 crore till now. Prashanth Neel has directed this film starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Tinnu Anand, and others. Hombale Films has produced Salaar.
Meanwhile, Salaar’s team is also looking forward to the sequel of their film. Prabhas recently spoke to IndiaToday.in and revealed that Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire’ will be followed up with a sequel. “The story is already ready, and we are going to start very soon, aiming to deliver the film as soon as possible for the audiences. I am aware that many of my fans are eagerly waiting for its release. We will soon unveil the details of Salaar Part 2,” he said.
Besides the sequel to this film, Prabhas has many much-hyped projects lined up on the professional front. He will act in the film Kalki 2898 AD, written and directed by Nag Ashwin. Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, Kamal Haasan, and others will also act in this film. Social media users are every bit curious to know more about the title of the film. The filmmaker talked about it at India’s Mytho-Sci-fi Epic at IIT Bombay last year.
Addressing the 2898 AD in the title, Nag Ashwin said that there is one logic to it that he will reveal closer to the film’s release date. Ashwin said that he don’t know how true or accurate that logic is. When another person asked about Kalki in the title, the director said It’s a very powerful name. According to him, it is something which is connected to the present and past, and that’s what the story (of the film) is.” Coincidentally, Kalki is also the tenth avatar of Lord Vishnu.
