Salaar Box Office: Prabhas Preps To BREAK Records as Film Collects Rs 29.45 Cr Even Before Release
Salaar is eyeing a massive box office collection despite an A certificate. Directed by KGF fame Prashanth Neel, Salaar stars Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead.

Salaar Box Office Collection: Prabhas and Prashanth Neel’s upcoming film, Salaar (Salaar: Cease Fire – Part 1), is all set to release this weekend. The film, which marks the Baahubali actor and KGF director’s first collaboration, is locking horns with Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki. Despite the clash, it seems like Salaar is set to sail through it smoothly. As per reports, the film has already witnessed an impressive box office collection with its advance bookings. The film has reportedly collected Rs 29.45 crores with just bookings.

According to Sacnilk.com, Salaar has earned 29.45 Cr gross collection with advance bookings. Most of these collections have come in from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. AP has contributed about Rs 7.74 Cr gross to the advance collection. Telangana has contributed Rs 9.92 Cr [10.66 Cr]. Karnataka’s contribution has amounted to Rs 5.53 Cr. Kerala stands at Rs 1.79 Cr and Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 1.33 Cr (at the time of reporting).

Salaar has been granted an A certificate. Speaking about the rating, director Prashanth Neel told India Today, “We obviously wanted a ‘U/A’ because we want the family audience to come and watch the film. At the same time, we are now okay with an ‘A’ certificate. The rules have changed for the censor board and when they explained the reason behind it, we came to terms with it.”

He expressed his disappointment over the certification while speaking with SS Rajamouli as well. “This story is all about Deva and Vardha, Salaar is a drama at its core,” the director said, adding, “I’ve seen Telugu cinema for years now and the violence in my film is pale compared to that. The idea was never to make a film so violent it gets an A. But the guidelines have changed and the censor board asked me to make certain cuts. I got so quiet when they said that because I didn’t make a vulgar movie. The violence in the film is needed. I was disappointed, but Prabhas told me it’s okay.”

Hombale Films’ Salaar: Part 1: Ceasefire stars Prabhas along with Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, and Jagapathi Babu in key roles. Made under the direction of Prashanth Neel, the film is produced by Vijay Kiragandur. Salaar has a duration of 2 hours and 55 minutes.
