Mammootty is one of the icons of Malayalam cinema and has acted in several hit films in his illustrious career. He is now looking forward to his upcoming pan-India film titled Bramayugam, directed by Rahul Sadasivan. Mammootty has now unveiled a poster from this film, as well that amped up the fervour around this movie. The black and white poster shows Mammootty wearing a crown and giving a sinister look. The star’s face has also undergone a tremendous makeover and looks every bit devilish with a lot of makeup on the forehead and eyes. Mammootty’s attire appears to be inspired by the Yakshaganam.

Yakshaganam is an art form performed in South Canara districts of Karnataka and Kasaragod in Kerala. Mammootty wrote in the caption,” #HappyNewYear 2024! #Bramayugam Written and directed by #Rahul Sadasivan Produced by @chakdyn @sash041075 Banner @allnightshifts @studiosynot.” This film will be released at the cinemas on February 15, 2024.

Fans loved the poster and one of them tweeted, “This is EPIC. Absolutely mad stuff! Hats off to #Mammootty sir for pushing the boundaries and always bringing difference to cinema. #Bramayugam”.

Another tweeted, “Mollywood movie posters can be classified into two: #Bramayugam and others”.

Besides Mammootty, actors like Arjun Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan, and Amalda Liz have also acted in Bramayugam. As of now, there are no details regarding the plot of this movie. A statement from the makers calls Bramayugam “a rooted story set in the dark ages of Kerala.” Night Shift Studios, a production house that will bankroll Bramayugam has been explicitly created for films that fall under the horror and thriller genre. Shehnad Jalal has been roped in as the cinematographer, while Shafique Mohamed Ali is on board as the editor. Christo Xavier composed the music for this film.

Mammootty last acted in the film Kaathal – The Core, which received accolades from the critics and audience. Jyothika, Muthumani, Chinnu Chandni Nair, Alex Alister, and others also acted in this movie. Kaathal-The Core was banned in Kuwait and Qatar reportedly due to concerns over the content of this film. Mammootty’s portrayal of a homosexual character in the movie might reportedly be one of the key reasons behind the ban.
