Actor Mahesh Babu’s star power is quite apparent in the worldwide collection of his recent outing Guntur Kaaram. The film, directed by Trivikram Srinivas, received mixed responses from several audiences and critics. Despite this, it has earned more than Rs 212 crore worldwide in a week. This is a record collection in a week for a regional movie.
While the film is still running in theatres, the actor has already commenced working on a tentatively titled SSMB29. Mahesh Babu recently made headlines as he flew to Germany on the morning of Friday to complete the technical work of the film.
Directed by SS Rajamouli, SSMB29 is expected to be a grand cinematic experience. According to reports, Mahesh Babu is scheduled to be in Germany for three days regarding some technical work for his upcoming film SSMB29. He is likely to host a grand success meet of Guntur Kaaram after returning to India.
Interestingly, it is the first time that Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli are joining hands on a project. Speculations are rife that the actor will be essaying a character inspired by the Hindu mythological god, Hanuman. Moreover, the Indonesian actress Chelsea Islan has been roped in to play a pivotal role in the film, according to reports.
Speaking about the film, SSMB29 is expected to be a massive project which will be made on a whopping budget of over Rs 1,000 crore, as per reports. Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu is reportedly charging Rs 125 crore for this movie. Earlier reports suggested that the actor charged between Rs 40 to 45 crore Guntur Kaaram.
Guntur Kaaram features an ensemble cast including Ramya Krishnan, Sreeleela, Meenakshii Chaudhary, Jayaram, and Prakash Raj among others. The film was released on January 12.
