Lucknow: Blaming previous regime for the state's dismal situation on industrialisation front, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday said his government's efforts are restoring confidence in investors, with business houses starting to come to Uttar Pradesh.
"There had been no policy pertaining to industry and the previous government did nothing in this regard, but things will now change", Akhilesh said at a function in Chitrakoot district.
The chief minister said that encouraged by the policies of his government, business houses were coming forward to set up industries in the state. He stressed for promoting hotel industry in Chitrakoot in wake of the potential of religious tourism it possesses.
Akhilesh, who also distributed unemployment allowance and Kanya Vidyadhan cheques on the occasion, said that his government will fulfil all its election promises.
He also inaugurated an airstrip and lounge in Chitrakoot, besides projects of construction of an over-bridge, roads and beautification of birthplace of Goswami Tulsidas. Declaring that Manikpur will be made a tehsil, Akhilesh said that tube wells will be provided to the area as per the requirement.
