Allahabad: Samajwadi Party MLA from Gyanpur Vijay Mishra, who was released on bail from the Naini Central Jail after one-and-a-half-years, was seen gifting Rs 500 notes to the policemen outside the jail compound on Tuesday.
Mishra's daughter Seema claimed that when her father was leaving the jail campus, the policemen asked them for sweets but as they were not carrying any sweets, they gave them money instead.
The incident, however, didn't go down well with the jail authorities. While three policemen were immediately suspended, strict action was ordered against others. CCTV footage will be examined to identify the other policemen who took money from Vijay Mishra.
Vijay Mishra has 62 criminal cases against him and is the main accused in a bomb attack carried out on former BSP minister Nand Gopal Nandi in July 2010. Almost a dozen people were injured and two others - Nandi's personal guard and an Indian Express reporter - were killed in the attack.
