New Delhi: The news of 11 Shiv Sena MPs forcing a Muslim worker at Maharasahtra Sadan to break his Ramzan fast has created an uproar in Lok Sabha. Apparently, the MPs were not satisfied as they had not been served Maharashtrain food. While the Shiv Sena MPs deny the accusation, the other MPs demanded a discussion in Parliament regarding this issue.
The allegations led to heated exchange in the Lok Sabha and even saw the unprecedented scene of BJP MP from South Delhi Ramesh Biduri trying to assault other MPs which led to huge uproar. Bidhuri was forced to apologise for his conduct. "I regret if I have hurt the sentiments of the members of this House," he said.
Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant vehemently denied the news as totally false. He requested that strict action should be taken against those who spread the rumour and added that no one should play with religious sentiments. "If the incident had happened earlier, why did anyone not complain about it," asked Arvind Sawant trying to make his stand clear.
Shiv Sena MP Anandrao Adsul shed more light on the issue stating that they had only asked the worker to taste the food as it tasted terrible. Adsul moved on to say that the issue was being blown out of proportion and that they were being falsely framed in the entire incident.
Another party MP Sanjay Raut also defends his colleagues by claiming that all the accusations were baseless. "The people trying to communalise this issue need to get their act together. They shouldn't forget that we rule over Maharashtra. We'll dig out all the dirt relating to their corruption," said an angry Raut.
