New Delhi: Congress Seemandhra MPs tried to disrupt Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram vote-on-account speech in the Lok Sabha by shouting slogans demanding a United Andhra. Even after repeated appeals made by Speaker Meira Kumar to maintain the decorum of the House, the MPs remains defiant.
Even as Chidambaram delivered his speech, the MPs continued to protest against the Telangana Bill, which will divide Andhra Pradesh into Seemandhra and Telangana, and was slated to be passed in this session. They also surrounded Chidambaram as he presented the interim Budget.
Due to ongoing protest in the House, Chidambaram had laid the papers on the floor of the House and it was also reported that he may make statement on any TV.
The Finance Minister also lost his cool while presenting the interim Budget as the ministers continued with disruptions. Congress Seemandhra MP Harsha Kumar also broke down in front of the Speaker while raising his demand for a united state.
The current and 15th Lok Sabha session has witnessed repeated disruptions by Seemandhra MPs and unruly scenes were also witnessed last week in the House.
