Kolkata: Workers of the Trinamool Congress took to the streets on Sunday for the second consecutive day to protest against West Bengal Transport Minister Madan Mitra'a arrest in the Saradha scam.
Party workers burnt BJP chief Amit Shah's effigy in protest of the CBI action against Mitra. They held blockades in three places in Burdwan district including NH2. The Durgapur-Kolkata road was blocked for more than one hour.
Mitra is remanded in CBI custody till December 16 in the case after being arrested on Friday evening. He called his arrest as a political conspiracy against him and his party by Centre.
