Shivraj Singh Chauhan government earlier in April 2016 has given nod to the salary hike of CM, cabinet ministers, speaker and MLAs.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday hiked the salary of former CMs of the state by 7 times.
The existing salary of an ex-CM of Madhya Pradesh is Rs 26,000 and with the present hike they will get Rs 1.70 lakh per month.
A few days back the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government had increased the salary of an incumbent CM, cabinet ministers, Assembly Speaker and MLAs.
Both the BJP and Congress had demanded upward revision of salaries of the lawmakers. Congress general secretary and former Madhya Pradesh CM Digvijaya Singh will be one of the beneficiaries.
