New Delhi: Lok Janashakati Party leader Ram Vilas Paswan has been admitted to a private hospital in the capital after he complained of chest congestion. Doctors attending Paswan at Fortis Hospital said that the Rajya Sabha MP was "absolutely fine" and he would be discharged in a day or two.

The 67-year-old leader, who concluded his three-month long Bihar Bachao Yatra on April 14, had "a chest infection after which he took some antibiotic leading to congestion and infection in the upper respiratory track," doctors said.

"He is absolutely fine and speaking and will be released in a day or two. There is nothing to worry," Dr Vijay Kumar, senior consultant, intervention cardiologist, who is attending him, told PTI.

The former Union Minister was taken to the hospital near New Friends Colony Saturday night after he complained of chest congestion. LJP General Secretary A Abdul Khaliq, who is with him, said the leader is "fine".
