PM blames BJP for taking a 'hostile' stand
He referred to former Gujarat minister Amit Shah in his media interaction.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for taking a very "hostile" stand against the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance Government. Singh took on the BJP while addressing the editors of major TV channels in New Delhi and claimed that the Opposition has been unfairly targeting the Government and disrupting Parliament.

"BJP has especially taken a very hostile policy. BJP has given a reason that perhaps because some strict action has been taken against someone who is a minister in Gujarat. I don't want to talk in detail about this," said Singh referring to former Gujarat minister of state for home Amit Shah, who has been accused of being involved in the alleged fake encounter of Shorabuddin Sheikh.

Shah was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation in connection with Sohrabuddin Sheikh encounter case. Shah has been asked to stay out of Gujarat by the Supreme Court after he was released on bail by the Gujarat High Court.

Singh also blamed the Opposition for the washout of Parliament's Winter Session.

"Parliament has not been able to function for reason I am not able to understand. I hope the next session is orderly. Talks are going on with Opposition. Whatever differences we have with Opposition, Parliament should be allowed to function," said the Prime Minister.
