Bangalore: Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Saturday described the attack on Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh, who was in a jail in Pakistan, as "most unfortunate" and said there was no democracy or humanity in Pakistan.
"It is very unfortunate. We have an example here. A Pakistani militant who was in jail and because of whom so many people died in a Mumbai hotel, till he was hanged, not only were crores of rupees spent on his protection, even his lawyer's fee was taken care of", he said apparently referring to Amir Ajmal Kasab.
"This is the difference between India's democracy and humanity and that of Pakistan. We are still following the age old tradition of treating even our enemies in a humane manner. Pakistan has no faith in democracy, no faith in humanity", he said.
