NDA declared Advani as PM candidate unanimously: Joshi
Murli Manohar Joshi says there is no dispute in the NDA over the issue.

Varanasi: Dismissing reports of differences with other National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners over projection of LK Advani as prime ministerial candidate, senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi said the coalition had unanimously declared his name for the top post.

“NDA had declared Advani as its prime ministerial candidate unanimously in a meeting of all its allies, a few months back," the former union HRD minister, Joshi said in an exclusive interview to PTI.

He said Advani's name was proposed for the post by the then NDA convener George Fernandes and it was supported by one and all present.

About Janata Dal-United (JD-U) head and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announcing that his party will not project Advani as the PM, Joshi said, “there was no such dispute in the NDA, it could be misreporting by the media.”

In NDA's meeting, JD-U leaders Sharad Yadav, Nitish Kumar, George Fernandes, BJD leader Naveen Patnaik, all senior BJP leaders and other allies were present.

“If any one disputes the decision, it is neither morally correct nor proper,” Joshi added.
