Mulayam slams PM, calls him 'weak'
Mulayam said he is disinterested in holding the post of CM and only wants to concentrate on public welfare through his party.

New Delhi: After getting brickbats for Nithari killings case and the deteriorating law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, the state Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav said he is disinterested in holding the post of CM and only wants to concentrate on public welfare through his party.

"Some political parties are saying Mulayam Singh Yadav wants Prime Minister's post. I neither want to become the Prime Minister nor the Chief Minister. We only want that policies and programmes of our party reach the masses," Samajwadi Party chief said on Saturday at a public gathering in Kanpur.

Mulayam seemed to be in a preaching mood as he went on to criticise everyone from Sonia Gandhi to Prime Minister, to India’s stand on Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein's execution.

Calling Manmohan Singh as the "weakest" Prime Minister, Mulayam said that all files were reaching the Prime Minister’s Office after passing through 10, Janpath.

Mulayam asked "why Congress and other parties are keeping mum on the killings of Hindi-speaking Bihari workers by ULFA in Assam."

Addressing a conference of Chak community, he launched a scathing attack on those who were slamming his government on the law and order front. The Chief Minister said incidents similar to Nithhari were taking place in Congress-ruled states and no one was demanding a CBI probe there.
