New Delhi: Minister of State for External Affairs General VK Singh's office on Tuesday night rubbished rumours of his resignation from the post. The former Army chief had on Monday attended Pakistan's National Day celebrations at Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi where several Kashmiri separatist leaders were also present.

Singh had expressed his displeasure after attending the function through a series of tweets with 'Duty' and 'Disgust' as hash tag.

The former Army Chief had been deputed by the government to represent it at the function where Kashmiri separatist leaders were also present. He stayed for a brief period at the High Commission.

The tweets generated a political controversy with Congress seeking his removal for his Monday's tweets. Asked about the tweets, Singh said he did not owe any explanation to anybody and he was at the reception at the instruction of government. He wondered as to why media was making so much of brouhaha in the matter.

What's your reaction?
