Modi's talk of progress plain lie, bookish: Rahul Gandhi
BJP has always lied on all the issues of development, says Rahul.

New Delhi: The Congress saved party general secretary Rahul Gandhi for the last day of campaigning and Gandhi junior continued his verbal attack on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

“The Gujarat government thinks that if a lie is repeated it will become truth. They have lied to you. They have spent Rs 700 crore on developmental programme. The reality is that there is no construction of roads, no 24-hour electricity. They are bookish talks,” Rahul said.

He also said that BJP has always lied on all the issues of development and most of the schemes were never implemented like Van Bandhu and giving land to the adivasis.

Rahul, who began his road show two hours behind schedule because of the late arrival of his flight from Delhi, was greeted by hundreds of people, including women and children, all along the 35-km route.

The campaigning ended this evening for the second phase of assembly elections in the state.

''Gandhiji used to say that truth is most important in our life and it should never hide behind falsehood,'' news agency quoted Rahul Gandhi alleging that the present government in Gujarat had always taken shelter behind falsehood.

He also rejected the BJP government's claim of being number one in education and in attracting investment to the state.

''Earlier, Vadodara was considered to be the centre of education in the entire country. But now Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka have marched well ahead of Vadodara,'' he added.
