Gujarat CM Narendra Modi has questioned the Central Government's ambitious plan to provide food security to the poor.

New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has questioned the Central Government's ambitious plan to provide food security to the poor. Modi said Gujarat has a food security scheme in place for the last 10 years, but the Centre has woken up to it just now. Modi expressed doubts about the Centre's intentions on his twitter account.

Modi tweeted that the poor people in Gujarat were being provided wheat at the rate of Rs 2 per kg, rice at Rs 3 per kg through the public distribution system (PDS). Is this now food security, Modi asked on twitter.

He claimed that Congress is just trying to rub salt into the wounds of the poor.
