Manmohan Singh also said that "elections are unpredictable".

New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Thursday gave his government "better than" seven out of 10 marks but said elections were unpredictable.

"I think elections are unpredictable. I have no doubt that the people will recognise what is at stake. People will respond. People are the best judge. I leave it to the people of India to decide what is right," he said.

He was responding to queries on United Progressive Alliance partners like RJD, LJP and PMK joining hands with other parties.

Asked how many marks out of 10 he would give to his government's five-year tenure, the Prime Minister said "it is for you to judge".

When reminded that he had earlier given seven out of 10, he quipped "it must be better than that".

Asked to comment on PMK in Tamil Nadu quitting UPA aligning with AIADMK, Singh said it had "nothing to do with our government. It is because of local politics in Tamil Nadu".

To questions about indications that Left parties were not averse to backing Congress in post-poll scenario, Singh said, "I hope the situation will not arise. We will be able to form government."

He, however, said the government was "very conscious" of the fact that a lot more needed to be done. "We still have a long way to go to finish the unfinished agenda. That is why we are seeking the mandate".
