New Delhi: The Lok Sabha will take up JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav's demand to move censure motion against Team Anna after 4 pm on Tuesday. The government said that it was ready for a small duration discussion if Lok Sabha members demand so.
Earlier, Sharad Yadav demanded suspension of the Question Hour to discuss the Team Anna issue and gave a notice in this regard to the Speaker. "Speaker is the custodian of the House. People should speak within limits while talking about the MPs and Parliament. I have given notice for suspension of Question Hour. I have also spoken to Pranab Mukherjee," Yadav told CNN-IBN.
Team Anna's scathing criticism of politicians on the issue of Lokpal Bill has not gone down well with Parliamentarians across party lines.
MPs in Lok Sabha hit out at Team Anna on Monday for using derogatory language against parliamentarians. But key Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal who fuelled the row with his description of MPs remained defiant, saying he had not said anything wrong and that Parliament now has a "serious problem of credibility" as people are losing faith in it since there were 162 lawmakers with criminal records. The MPs should do some introspection, he added.
Sharad Yadav asked the Chair to move a resolution condemning the the "uncivil" language used against MPs during Anna Hazare's day-long fast with some members in the Lower House saying it was deviating from its objective to fight corruption. The group was also accused of waging a fight against the political class."
