K'taka: BJP suspends BSY loyalist
The Yeddyurappa camp had fielded BJ Puttaswamy for the third Rajya Sabha berth in the state.

New Delhi: The rift between the BJP and its defiant member, former Karnataka chief minister, BS Yeddyurappa, widened further on Monday after one of the leader's loyalists was suspended from the party.

BJ Puttaswamy was a BJP MLA in the Karnataka Assembly.

BJP President Nitin Gadkari spoke to Yeddyurappa a little while ago. However, the latter reportedly remains adamant and is unwilling to come to Delhi for the party meet.

The Yeddyurappa camp had fielded Puttaswamy for the third Rajya Sabha berth in the state. However, the party high command wanted it for Rajiv Chandrashekhar.
