New Delhi: The run up to the Delhi Assembly elections is heating up as Aam Admi Party Chief Ministerial candidate Arvind Kejriwal has once again challenged Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit to an open debate. In a letter addressed to her, he said that while he has challenged her on several occasions in the past, she was never responded.

He has said that the two must meet at a public platform where they can make their stands on several poll related issues clear.

Sheila Dikshit had on Tuesday admitted Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Admi Party has drawn people's attention but expressed doubts whether it will translate into votes in coming assembly polls.

Dikshit, who is leading Congress' campaign for a fourth successive victory in the polls, descibed AAP as a "new entrant" in the electoral battle and said the main fight will be between Congress and BJP.

"It is a new entrant in the political field. It has drawn people's attention but I am not sure whether it will be able make any impact. BJP is our main contender and the main fight will be between Congress and BJP," she said.

Dikshit said replying to a question at a news conference on whether she was concerned over AAP's campaign against her government. "The situation is not very clear as of now. It will be clear once the parties announce their candidates," she said.

AAP has decided to field candidates in all 70 constituencies. The party had last week claimed it was on course to form the next government in Delhi. AAP had come out with a survey which showed the party was leading in 33 of 70 Assembly seats in capital.

The party has been attacking Delhi government on a number of issues including power and water tariff and alleged corruption.
