Cuddalore: The first Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam (DMK) woman's rally has seen Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's daughter K Kanimozhi name painted across Cuddalore.
So is Kanimozi eyeing a Lok Sabha berth?
"I haven't really thought about it yet," a smiling Kanimozi says when she asked about a possible Lok Sabha berth.
But if indications at the DMK’s first woman rally in Cuddalore is anything to go by, Kanimozi looks all set to be Karunanidhi's mouthpiece in Delhi - a position once held by Dayanidhi Maran.
"Periyar once said I will even wear sacred ash on my forehead if it will do some good to the people. Kalaignar has said the same thing. If it pleases people to name the project Sethuram, it shall be done. It's the project that is important," Kanimozi says.
After the Rajya Sabha berth it appears that the Chief Minister's daughter Kanimozi just might have one foot in the Lok Sabha.
But whether are the DMK leaders will be happy with it is questionable.
"Why should she be Lok Sabha MP? She's already an MP. There is no need for her to go to the Lok Sabha," K Ponmudi, Tamil Nadu Minister of Higher Education, said.
Karunanidhi though seems to want to keep the power within the family and who better than an erudite daughter to take Delhi by storm.
