J&K cabinet reshuffle in offing: Congress
On January 5, the NC-Congress coalition government would be completing its three years in office.

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Congress chief Saifuddin Soz on Saturday said that a reshuffle in the cabinet of NC-Congress coalition government in the state would be soon carried out.

"It is overdue. There would be a reshuffle. Expansion may not apply because there is hardly any scope for that. So there would be a reshuffle," Soz told on Saturday.

On January 5, the NC-Congress coalition government would be completing its three years in office.

In reply to questions whether new ministers from Congress would be inducted in the forthcoming expansion, Soz said "let us see. There is very limited scope for expansion. However reshuffle is overdue".

Replying to another question about possible sacking of some ministers due to non-performance, Soz further said "I cannot comment on this".

In reply to a question about rotational Chief Minister's demand raised by the Congress workers in Jammu and Kashmir, JKPCC chief said, "This question is being repeated everytime. It is for the high command to decide. Let us make Congress a vibrant party. I want Congress activists to make the party strong and by doing that they can get anything they wish to".

"Congress has become a vibrant party in Kashmir. Congress slogans and its messages are acceptable to the people across the Valley. Portraits of Sonia and Prime Minister are being respected by the people", Soz claimed.

"People respect Congress in Kashmir. Congress has become another powerful organisation- its base is expanding in Valley-- I am a celebrity and my party is also a celebrity," he said.

Regarding question about the role of coordination committee headed by him, Soz said that it is the coordination committee's work to see what programmes government has to do in the state. We shall soon take stock in the meeting.

"Coordination committee is required to help coalition partners. We shall solve problems. We shall discuss the agenda there and then move forward," Soz said.
