Jayalalithaa files defamation case against Subramanian Swamy

Chennai: The Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa has filed a defamation suit against the senior BJP leader Dr Subramanian Swamy.

Swamy in his letter to the Prime Minister had alleged that the boats apprehended by the Sri Lankan navy belong to Jayalalithaa's close aide Sasikala and the DMK leader TR Baalu.

Dr Swamy alleged Jayalalithaa appropriated his hard work on Mulla Periyar Dam as her achievement. He had also alleged that Jayalalithaa claimed she saved Ram Setu.
