Jagan DA case: CBI questions Andhra minister
Venkatramana is the first minister to have been summoned for questioning by the CBI in the case.

Hyderabad: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday summoned Andhra Pradesh Excise Minister Mopidevi Venkatramana in connection the YSR Congress chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s disproportionate assets case.

The minister went to the CBI office for the questioning.

Venkatramana is the first minister to have been summoned for questioning by the CBI in the case.

He is one of the six ministers, who, along with eight IAS officers, were issued notices by the Supreme Court on March 12 for issuing government orders in YSR regime that allegedly favoured Jagan.

Jagan has been saying that the government is protecting members of the erstwhile YSR cabinet and some IAS officers and targeting only him.

All six ministers, to whom notices have been issued are with the Congress government and not supporting Jagan. The court's decision will now force the government to share the responsibility.

The Opposition has demanded the resignation of the six who continue to be ministers. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Reddy has promised appropriate action if the charges are proved.
