New Delhi: Former Gujarat IPS office RB Sreekumar on Tuesday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party has undertaken a malicious propaganda against him by a raking up the 1994 ISRO spying case. "The BJP has undertaken a malicious propaganda against me by raking up a closed case," said Sreekumar.
The BJP had launched an all out attack on Sreekumar accusing him of cooking up the 1994 ISRO spying case. BJP Spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi had alleged that the anti-Narendra Modi policeman was part of the Intelligence Bureau team which illegally detained and cooked up the case against former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan.
The BJP had alleged that it was part of a CIA conspiracy to stop India from developing cryogenic technology. They had also accused activist Teesta Setalvad of helping Sreekumar when a chargesheet was filed in the case.
"By 2004 it was clear that the ISRO spy case was a fabricated story. Many men who single handedly fabricated this story included none other than RB Sreekumar," Lekhi had said.
