'I am happy', sonrise in Cong has Sonia Gandhi proud
Rahul Gandhi was on Monday appointed the Congress General Secretary.

There’s been a new ‘son’rise in Congress and as scion Rahul Gandhi was inducted in the party, it was a proud moment for mother and party president Sonia Gandhi.

"Of course, I am happy," she told journalists while accepting greetings from a large number of party workers who came to her 10, Janpath residence.

Rahul Gandhi was on Monday appointed the Congress General Secretary.

Many local leaders from Delhi and activists of Youth Congress and NSUI gathered outside the party headquarters and Gandhi's residence to celebrate the Amethi MP's rise in the organisation.

Rahul is reported to have told a group of party activists, who greeted him, that the Congress workers should work in unison. "We will all work together," Delhi Congress leader Brij Mohan Sharma said quoting the 37-year-old leader.

The party activists gave bouquets to the Congress President and Rahul.
