New Delhi: The AAP is in the news for wrong reasons once again. Its famous face on television channels Shazia Ilmi has embarrassed her party. Her advise to fellow Muslims to vote on communal lines in this election has attracted sharp criticism.
But she is not the only one who has made such statements. In the last one week four political leaders have made such communal statements. Bihar BJP leader Giriraj Singh shocked the people by telling the voters those who don't agree with Modi to go to Pakistan.
The BJP has distanced itself from his comment. Even Modi has agreed that it was wrong on his part to say something like that. A day after Giriraj Singh, VHP leader Praveen Togadia created another controversy by allegedly saying that Muslims should be driven out of Hindu areas.
He later termed it as a conspiracy against him and maintained that he never made that statement.
On Monday, Shiv Sena leader Ramdas Kadam made a statement in the presence of Modi at an election rally.
He attacked the Muslims in connection with Mumbai's Azad maidan riots. Before that SP leader Azam Khan and BJP leader Amit Shah also hit the national headlines by making communal comments.
