FIRs have been registered against 11 people including the Gorkha Janamukti Morcha chief Bimal Gurung. The GJM has been accused of involvement in Tamang's killing.
A massive protest rally was held in Darjeeling to protest Tamang's murder. Tamang was hacked to death while he was making preparations for a party rally.
At least 45 people were detained during raids by the police. He will be cremated at his ancestral house at Magma on Monday.
